Cheap hydrogen produced can be used as the best lifting-power gas existing, to lift the aerospace crafts up to 50km altitude (the world record for weather balloon is 55.4 km alt. ).
To avoid explosions and disasters as the HINDENBURG's, our team invented a special method for containing this highly flammable gas.
Instead of a large envelope, filled with gas, we offer a new design - small (2.20x2.20x2.20m - 11m3) cubic containers, made of ultra-thin and lightweight Carbon, or Kevlar, or Graphene, fiber-resin composite skin.
Each container will have a flexible expanding department for compensating the air pressure changes and to keep a fixed pressure of the hydrogen gas inside, at about 0.2 bar.
This container is easy to handle, loading (even manually), shipping, precisely adjusting the airship's lifting force and is safe enough to keep a portion of hydrogen inside for years.
The large body of an Airship or a Platform can be filled with thousands of such containers, attached to it's rigid carcass and acting as an integral lifting power. Their number will be changeable and precisely adjustable "on demand", according to the specific needs of airship's lifting power for the moment. They can be also combined with a larger, constant, fixed-volume department of the airship, filled with helium.
Part of the containers could be connected in a grid with pump and tank for pumping hydrogen in and out of the containers and thus precisely adjusting and controlling the airship's lifting force.
The Hydrogen Airships will be equipped with combined Propeller / Implosion Engine Propulsion - https://spaceship.alle.bg , allowing to move silently up to 3000m and then to reach easily the 50 km altitude.
Our company Grainis ltd. Bulgaria works since 2006 on R&D projects for low-cost production of hydrogen and oxy-hydrogen (SOH, MOH) gases, through a high-effective method of modified water electrolysis.
During our researches, we have found a way to receive these gases with very low power consumption -
- 0.4Wh/L (0.9kWh/kg) for SOH and
- 1.2Wh/L (12.3kWh/kg) for HYDROGEN .
Also, we have elaborated a method for production of Modified OH (MOH) gas by a ultrasono-modified water electrolysis, where the electrolyte is activated by ultrasonic circulation. The result is production of a new kind of gas fuel, similar to the Ohmasa Gas, patented in 2008 and 2011 by the Japanese professor Ryushin Omasa.
This gas has unique properties.
Unlike the regular SOH, MOH can be compressed (CMOH) over 200 bar and liquefied (LMOH) at -178deg.C/1bar.
Compressed or Liquefied MOH is a perfect - clean, safe (cannot be ignited by a spark), lightweight, dense and compact fuel and energy storage.
It can be used as a vehicle fuel in several ways :
1. As it is, in CNG-converted engines, with some additional adjustment of the ignition point.
2. By extracting/separating the PURE HYDROGEN gas content out of the MOH gas, on-board the vehicle, ON-DEMAND, and then :
a/ burning the pure hydrogen gas in Hydrogen gas-converted IC Engine -
or for higher performance, in Gas-Turbine, Ramjet/ScramJet-Engine, Pulse-Detonation Engine, etc.
b/ burning a MIXTURE of pure hydrogen & MOH gas, in balanced % ratio, dependent on the engine's specific performance needs for the moment (the best option).
c/ fueling HYDROGEN FUEL CELLS for onboard electric power generation and driving the vehicle's PROPULSION ELECTRIC MOTOR.
Also, SOH/MOH's flame can heat, melt and boil-up UHTC materials up to unique ultrahigh temperatures as 5,500 deg.C and more.
Applying both above-mentioned methods invented - the low-power (0.4Wh/L) water-electrolysis method, plus the high-temp (5,500 deg.C) method, allows autonomous SOH/MOH Power Plants for low-cost gas-fuel and power/heat-energy generation to be designed.
The only Fuel these Plants will consume, is Water - 100% recyclable. The only Waste is Water too.
